At Gorey FRC, our purpose is simple but powerful: to support our community and create a place where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and included. We are committed to making the Centre a warm, safe, and friendly space for all who walk through our doors.

About the Family Resource Centre Programme Gorey FRC is proud to be part of the national Family Resource Centre Programme -Ireland’s largest family and community-based support initiative, funded by Tusla, the Child and Family Agency.

There are currently over 121, soon to be 126, FRC's across the country, each one shaped by the needs of its local community. In Gorey FRC, we work to provide supports to individuals and families at every stage of life.

Our Work at Gorey FRC

Gorey Family Resource Centre serves as a focal point for community support and development, acting as both a catalyst for positive change and an accessible hub for individuals and families in Gorey and the surrounding areas, including River chapel and Courtown.

We deliver a comprehensive range of services designed to support children, families, and the wider community, including:

•       Family and individual supports: one-to-one guidance, advocacy, family

access visits, and in-depth support for families facing challenges.

•       Counselling and wellbeing: affordable counselling services, health and

wellbeing initiatives, and resilience-building supports for children and families.

•       Education and training: community education programmes, training

opportunities, and group work designed to meet local needs.

•       Community development: establishing and supporting a variety of groups

while strengthening local participation and leadership.

•       Practical supports: welfare rights information, access to IT and office

        facilities, and assistance with entitlements.

•       Networking and partnerships: working with other community groups and

statutory agencies, making referrals, and building strong partnerships to ensure people can access the right services.

•       Advocacy and social change: raising awareness of local issues, supporting

community voices, and contributing to wider social and policy change.

We also work closely with partner organisations such as Wexford Women’s Refuge, Family Carers Ireland, HSE services, Wexford Volunteer Centre, and the Travelling Community. Where we cannot provide a service directly, we will do our very best to connect people with the right support.

Family Resource Centres, like ours, are at the heart of communities. We provide not only vital services but also opportunities for people to connect, participate, and lead. From educational courses and counselling to community groups and advocacy, our role is to support families and strengthen community life in Gorey and beyond.

Target Age Groups The centre works with individuals and families offering a range of family supports. The centre does not provide direct services i.e. crèche / youth work to children under 18 years of age.
