The Cottage Autism Network (C.A.N.), founded in 2004, is a parent-led voluntary support group serving as a vital source of information, advice, and support for neurodiverse individuals and their families. We strive to provide equitable, high-quality, and therapeutic supports that foster independence, wellbeing, and essential community connections.
Membership is open to families with an individual who has, or is awaiting, an autism diagnosis. Members gain access to a private parent support group, workshops, and a wide variety of activities—from summer camps, youth and kids clubs, and swimming lessons to therapeutic horse-riding. We are also actively expanding our services to include dedicated adult social groups to support transitional needs and reduce social isolation.
Membership is €26 per year or €65 for 3 years.
We are passionate about raising awareness for autism acceptance. We provide talks from a parent's perspective and feature lived experiences from our teenage and adult members who have grown through the network to become Junior Volunteers. We also have qualified professional support in all of our operations. Our ultimate goal is to provide a safe, supportive environment and to work with the wider community to make Wexford a more inclusive, understanding place where the neurodiverse community can thrive and reach their full potential.
